Auto glass in South Raleigh from Impex Auto Glass is a mobile service. Impex’s shops are in Greensboro and Charlotte; in Raleigh the technician comes to the vehicle, so what matters is where the car will be and whether there is a level, dry place to work. This page covers the six areas this site serves, from Southeast Raleigh out to Angier in Harnett County.
Every service is available in each of them: door glass replacement, back windshield replacement, quarter glass replacement, fleet auto glass, and windshields, which are covered on the page for windshield replacement in Angier, NC.

The six areas, north to south
Southeast Raleigh
South and east of downtown, where I-40 runs on toward Clayton, US 70 heads into Garner and US 401 runs south. Much of the work here is in apartment and townhouse lots and at workplaces, and a lot of it is door glass: windows broken overnight in parking lots. NCDOT’s Complete 540 project has opened its first phase, about 18 miles of the Triangle Expressway from the NC 55 Bypass in Apex to I-40 and US 70, and a second phase on toward Knightdale is under way with completion scheduled for 2028. Road work and new pavement mean loose stone, and loose stone means chipped glass.
Lake Johnson
The southwest side of the city around Lake Johnson and its park. Homes, apartments and the lots at the lake’s trailheads, where cars sit unattended for an hour or two. A smashed door glass or quarter window at a trailhead lot is the classic call. If the car can be moved home, the work can be done there; if not, the technician can usually work in the lot, given room around the door.
Swift Creek
The southern Wake County area between Raleigh, Cary and Garner, a mix of subdivisions, wooded lots and longer drives. Driveways here usually give the technician everything the visit needs. The first phase of Complete 540 now runs across this side of southern Wake County toward I-40 and US 70.
Lake Wheeler
South of the city around the Lake Wheeler reservoir, where Raleigh turns rural quickly: farms, homes on large lots, and two-lane roads with gravel at the shoulders. Back windshields on pickups and glass on farm and work vehicles are common jobs, and a barn bay or carport makes a good place to work if rain is due.
Angier and the Wake County side
Willow Spring is in southern Wake County, north of Angier. Angier is in Harnett County, where NC 55 and NC 210 meet. Both are covered in detail, windshield included, on the page for windshield replacement in Angier, NC: the roads, the chips that dump trucks leave, and what a driveway visit needs.

Roads that break glass south of Raleigh
| Area | Main roads | The usual glass calls |

| Lake Johnson | Roads around the lake and its park | Door and quarter glass at trailhead lots |
| Swift Creek | Southern Wake roads near the Triangle Expressway | Chips from construction and expressway traffic |
| Lake Wheeler | Two-lane roads around the reservoir | Pickup rear glass, farm and work vehicles |
| Willow Spring | Southern Wake County roads | Windshields, work trucks, back glass |
| Angier | NC 55, NC 210 | Windshield chips from gravel trucks, door glass |
Raleigh is served by I-40, I-87, I-440 and I-540 with the NC 540 toll road, by US 1, US 64, US 70, US 264 and US 401, and by NC 50, NC 54 and NC 98. I-440 is the Beltline, a 16.4-mile partial beltway around the center of the city. The south side of that network, I-40 and US 70 and US 401, is the part this site covers, together with the state highways that run down into Harnett County.
North Carolina’s covered-load law, G.S. 20-116(g), requires trucks over 7,500 pounds carrying rock, gravel or stone to keep the load six inches below the walls and covered. Stones still come off tires and tailgates, so the simplest protection is to stay well back from loaded trucks.
What a mobile visit needs, wherever you are
- A level, firm spot with room to open the doors fully.
- Dry glass: a garage, carport, barn bay or covered parking deck if rain is due, because adhesive should not go onto wet glass.
- Permission, where the lot is private: an apartment complex, an office park or a job site.
- The keys, and someone who can let the technician into the car.
- Your insurer’s name and the claim number, if you are claiming.
Impex states mobile service throughout North Carolina. If your address is outside the six areas above, call anyway and ask, and say where the vehicle will be parked.

Is there an Impex location in South Raleigh?
No. Impex Auto Glass has shops in Greensboro and Charlotte. In Raleigh and down to Angier the service is mobile.
Can the work be done in a parking lot?
Usually, if there is room to open the doors and the lot owner allows it. Apartment complexes and office parks sometimes have rules, so check first.
